What does Google actually require?
According to Google Search Central, appearing as a supporting link in AI Overviews or AI Mode requires that a page be indexed and eligible for a Google Search snippet. Standard SEO fundamentals still apply, but there is no separate AI submission, special markup or guaranteed way to earn a recommendation.

Your five-step checklist
Step 1
Make your most useful pages indexable
Check robots.txt, page-level noindex instructions, server responses and canonical URLs. Google needs to be able to crawl and index a page before it can appear as a supporting link in AI Overviews or AI Mode.
What to do: Inspect your homepage and each important product or service URL in Google Search Console. Fix blocked, broken or unintentionally excluded pages before worrying about keywords.
Step 2
Write for the questions customers actually ask
Give each important page a clear purpose. Explain the problem, who the product is for, what it does, what it does not do and how to get started. Include original examples that answer real questions rather than repeating generic AI advice.
What to do: For each product, write down five customer questions and answer the most important ones directly on the relevant page.
Step 3
Show who is responsible for the website
Make business identity, contact information, product ownership and support details easy for visitors to find. Use consistent business details across your site and relevant public profiles.
What to do: Review your About, Contact and product pages for accurate company and support information.
Step 4
Connect related pages with descriptive links
Link from your homepage to products, from products to useful explanations and from guides back to the tools that solve the problem. Use meaningful link text so people and search engines understand the relationship.
What to do: Check that every important page can be reached through normal links, without needing a site search or a JavaScript-only interaction.
Step 5
Measure what Google actually shows
Search Console's Web performance report includes traffic from Google's AI search experiences alongside other Google Search traffic. It does not by itself provide a separate, complete tally of AI recommendations.
What to do: Track impressions, clicks and conversions for your target pages. Separately test a consistent set of non-branded questions in Google AI Mode and record the linked sources you see.
Common questions
Can a website submit itself to Google AI Overviews?
No special AI Overview submission or structured data is required. Pages must be indexed and eligible for a search snippet, and Google chooses whether to show them. Eligibility is not a placement guarantee.
Does adding FAQ schema guarantee an AI recommendation?
No. Structured data should accurately describe visible page content, but Google does not require special AI markup and no schema guarantees that a brand will be recommended.
What is the difference between an SEO check and an AI visibility check?
An on-page SEO check examines individual webpage signals such as titles, content, indexability and images. AI visibility monitoring measures whether AI systems actually cite or recommend your pages for relevant questions. One does not prove the other.
Start with a real page, not a guess.
RankMe Page Check by MadLabz examines one public webpage and explains on-page issues in metadata, content, indexability, images and trust signals. It is a starting-point diagnostic, not a promise of Google AI placement.
